About the Cabin

Where is Bear Feet Cabin located?

Bear Feet is located at 313 Brown Wren Way, Gatlinburg, TN in Mountain Shadows Resort. The cabin is approximately three miles from downtown Gatlinburg, less than one mile from Rocky Top Sports World, and convenient to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community, Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood.

How close is Bear Feet to downtown Gatlinburg?

Bear Feet is approximately three miles from downtown Gatlinburg. You can enjoy convenient access to restaurants, shopping, attractions, and entertainment while staying in a peaceful wooded resort away from the busiest downtown traffic and noise.

Is the road to Bear Feet steep or difficult to drive?

No. Mountain Shadows Resort has well-maintained roads, and reaching Bear Feet does not require driving on extremely steep or narrow mountain roads. The cabin also has a flat concrete driveway, making for an easy arrival and unloading.

How many guests can Bear Feet accommodate?

Bear Feet can accommodate up to 10 guests. The cabin is best suited for up to six adults and four children because some of the additional sleeping accommodations are natural-log futon easybeds. The cabin works especially well for families, grandparents traveling with children and grandchildren, or couples vacationing together.

How many bedrooms and bathrooms does the cabin have?

Bear Feet has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Two queen bedrooms and one full bathroom are located on the main level. The private king bedroom, second full bathroom and a large log futon for children are on the lower level. The upper level has two log futons for children.

What is the layout of Bear Feet?

Bear Feet is a spacious three-level log cabin.

Main level: Two queen bedrooms, full bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and access to the covered outdoor dining deck.

Loft level: Billiards and entertainment area, additional sleeping space suitable for children, and access to the observation deck.

Lower level: Private king bedroom, full bathroom, living area, laundry facilities, seasonal gas fireplace, and access to the deck with the private hot tub.

Does Bear Feet have step-free entry?

Yes. Bear Feet has a flat concrete driveway and step-free access into the main level. Two queen bedrooms, a full bathroom, the kitchen, dining area, and main deck are all located on this level. However, Bear Feet is a three-level cabin and does not have an elevator. The loft, lower-level king suite, second bathroom, living room, laundry area, and hot tub require the use of stairs. The cabin is therefore not fully wheelchair accessible.

Is Bear Feet suitable for guests with limited mobility?

The step-free entrance and main-level accommodations may work well for guests who have difficulty with stairs. Guests can access two bedrooms, a full bathroom, the kitchen, dining area, and main deck without changing floors. Because individual mobility needs vary, please contact us before booking if you have specific accessibility questions. We will gladly provide additional information so you can decide whether the cabin is appropriate for your needs.

Is Bear Feet pet-friendly?

Yes, pups are welcome with prior approval and subject to the terms of your reservation. Please include your pet information when requesting a quote or making a reservation so that all applicable requirements and fees can be confirmed. Because Bear Feet is in bear country, pets should never be allowed to roam freely or approach wildlife.

Does the cabin have a private hot tub?

Yes. Bear Feet has a private, year-round hot tub on the spacious lower deck. It offers a relaxing place to unwind after hiking, sightseeing, or exploring Gatlinburg.

Does Bear Feet have a mountain view?

Yes. Bear Feet offers views toward the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The upper observation deck is an especially enjoyable place to take in the scenery and peaceful mountain surroundings. Mountain views can vary by season as the surrounding trees leaf out or lose their foliage.

Does the cabin have fireplaces?

Yes. Bear Feet has two gas fireplaces - one in the main level dining room and another in the lower-level living area. The fireplaces are seasonal and are generally unavailable during warmer months.

Is there a pool at Bear Feet?

Guests have access to two seasonal community swimming pools within Mountain Shadows Resort. The resort also offers a playground and pavilion. Pool schedules and availability are controlled by the resort and may vary because of weather, maintenance, or seasonal operating dates. The swimming pool is within walking distance, just past one cabin and across the street.

Is there a game room?

Yes. The loft provides an entertainment area with a billiards table, television, seating, and additional sleeping space. The cabin also has a living area on the lower level, giving families and groups room to spread out.

Is the kitchen fully equipped?

Yes. The updated kitchen includes modern GE appliances, granite countertops, a GE refrigerator with ice maker, stove, oven, microwave, GE dishwasher, Cuisinart coffee maker and Keurig, toaster, blender, Stainless Steel cookware, themed dinnerware, glassware, utensils, and other essentials for preparing meals. The large dining table seats up to 10 guests, and the breakfast bar provides additional seating.

Does Bear Feet have an outdoor grill?

Yes. A natural gas Weber grill is provided on the main-level deck, along with grill utensils and a covered outdoor dining area. Because the grill is connected to the home's natural gas supply, guests do not need to refill a propane tank.

Are linens and towels provided?

Yes. Bed linens, bath towels, and basic starter supplies are provided. The cabin also has a full-size washer and dryer on the lower level for guest use. There are also separate towels provided for the hot tub and resort pools (please return to the cabin.)

Does Bear Feet have Wi-Fi and television service?

Yes. The cabin has high-speed Wi-Fi and flat-screen smart televisions with Roku streaming.

Location and Getting Around

Is Bear Feet close to Rocky Top Sports World?

Yes. Bear Feet is less than one mile from Rocky Top Sports World, making it a convenient choice for families attending tournaments, competitions, and sporting events.

Is Bear Feet close to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge?

Yes. Bear Feet is approximately 10 miles from Pigeon Forge and about 11-12 miles from Dollywood, depending on the route taken and current road conditions. Travel times can increase during holidays, special events, and peak tourism seasons.

Is the Gatlinburg Trolley nearby?

Yes. A Gatlinburg Trolley stop is approximately three blocks from Bear Feet. The trolley provides free transportation along designated routes, although schedules and routes may change seasonally. Visit the official Gatlinburg website for current trolley information.

How close is Bear Feet to Great Smoky Mountains National Park?

Bear Feet is conveniently located near several entrances and access points to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Greenbrier entrance is approximately three miles away, and Sugarlands Visitor Center and the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail area are approximately five miles away. Road conditions, seasonal closures, and traffic may affect routes and travel times.

Is there an entrance fee for Great Smoky Mountains National Park?

Great Smoky Mountains National Park does not charge a traditional entrance fee. However, most vehicles parked inside the park for longer than 15 minutes must display a valid physical parking tag. Parking tags are associated with a vehicle's license plate and do not guarantee a parking space. Current requirements and purchasing information are available on the National Park Service website.

Can I bring my dog hiking in the National Park?

Pets are allowed in certain campgrounds, picnic areas, and along roadways but are prohibited on most trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Leashed pets are permitted on only two park trails: the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail. Pets must remain on a leash no longer than six feet. Review current National Park Service pet guidelines before your visit.

Families Wildlife and House Rules

Will we see bears at the cabin?

Black bears and other wildlife live throughout the Gatlinburg area, and guests may occasionally see a bear in the resort. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Never feed, approach, follow, or attempt to photograph a bear at close range. Keep children and pets nearby, secure food and trash, keep vehicle doors locked, and observe all posted BearWise rules. Feeding bears is dangerous and illegal.

Is Bear Feet suitable for children?

Yes. Children and infants are welcome. The cabin offers family-friendly features such as a Pack 'n Play/travel crib, highchair, baby gate, fireplace guards, billiards, multiple televisions, and access to the resort playground and seasonal pools. Parents remain responsible for supervising children, particularly around stairs, decks, fireplaces, the hot tub, billiards table, and wooded outdoor areas.

Is smoking allowed?

No. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside Bear Feet. Guests must follow all house rules concerning outdoor smoking and the safe disposal of smoking materials.

Is parking available at the cabin?

Yes. Free private parking is available at Bear Feet. The cabin has a flat concrete driveway that can accommodate up to 3 vehicles. Guests bringing unusually large vehiclea, more than 3 vehicles, or a trailer should contact us before booking to confirm available space.

What is the minimum age to rent Bear Feet?

The primary renter must be at least 25 years old, must complete the reservation, and must reside at the cabin throughout the stay. The person making the reservation is responsible for the property and all members of the group.

Reservations and Booking

Is there a minimum stay?

Bear Feet generally requires a minimum stay depending on the season. Minimum-stay requirements may vary for holidays, special events, and certain high-demand periods. Enter your preferred dates on the booking page to see current availability and pricing.

How do I check rates and availability?

Use the Availability or Book Now section of our website to enter your travel dates, view current availability, and receive an instant price estimate. Rates vary according to season, holidays, local events, length of stay, and demand. A written quote is also available by contacting Donna and Tom directly.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than 45 days before arrival are eligible for a refund of payments made, less a $75 cancellation fee. Reservations canceled 45 days or fewer before arrival are nonrefundable. If canceled dates are rebooked, the owners may provide an additional refund for the nights successfully rebooked. The rental agreement issued with your reservation contains the complete policy and controls if any wording differs. Because unexpected events can occur, guests are encouraged to consider purchasing travel insurance.

Who owns and manages Bear Feet?

Bear Feet is personally owned and managed by Tom and Donna Notaro. It is their only vacation rental and their personal mountain home. They have welcomed Smoky Mountain visitors for more than 10 years and are happy to answer questions, provide local suggestions, and help guests plan a memorable Gatlinburg stay.
